With Lia’s Kitchen at Roath Market Lovely collaboration last week with Lia’s Kitchen at Roath Farmers Market . Read all about Dandelion Pie, using foraged greens in the hungry gap (don’t worry - they are not yet featuring as box items!) Read Lia’s blog here. |
Veg box contents – June We’re looking ahead to lots on new plantings coming into the boxes – peas should be with you soon, salad and herb bags. In the meantime we are using produce from other organic suppliers – as close to home as possible. We’ve some lovely kale from Field Days Organic in the Vale in the boxes this week. We’ll be in the hungry gap for a few more weeks – very little UK veg around, let alone Welsh! then back with abundance. Don’t forget to revisit your account to update substitutions and exclusions. Changes to your order – pausing, substitutions, extras can be made through our ordering system Bucky Box – by the Friday before your box is due. Log into your Bucky Box account and take a look. To make changes click on the ‘my order’ button. |

What’s Going on at the Field this week. Planting, planting and more planting – in between drought and deluges! Welsh weather and our clay soil is certainly a challenging combination. The ground dries out and we can’t get young plants in, or its too wet and we’ll damage the soil structure by being on it. The plants need some rain to get away – but not so much that they don’t wash away on our exposed site. Its an easer story in the polytunnels – now a haven of new life waiting to flood into your boxes! Tomatoes, aubergines, peas, cucumbers all coming along, new salad nearly ready to harvest. |
